What kind of Helmet Video Camera System do you need?
If you skydive, kayak, or just hang around, you will want a video camcorder system to document all the fun and excitement. But what kind of system do you need? You will find three types of common helmet camcorder video systems.
They are: analog, wireless and the ultimate DVR.
Sports Video Recorder
The first and most simple system is the camcorder based system. Basically, the small bullet sytle camera connects to your camcorder. With this two part arrangement, you are able to record without holding the larger camcorder. Though the bullet camera connects to the AV port of your cam, the video is DVD quality.
Wireless Helmet Camera
The second system is the wireless helmet camera. The strength of this system is the wireless aspect and that is does not require the separate camcorder. The small camcorder is compact and simple to use. It records on an SD card which is convenient to insert into the computer to share with friends.
Wireless Helmet Camcorder
Most helmet video cams are waterproof and impact resistant, two important features for extreme sports filming. Video resolution and quality with the wireless helmet camera is good, especially with the HD feature. However the video quality of the sports video recorder is not as good as that of a camcorder or Ultimate DVR System.
The third system is the Ultimate DVR System. Slightly larger and less agile that the Wireless helmet camcorder, it is easy to operate and produces DVD quality recordings. The Ultimate DVR System is all digital and records onto a SD card. It features one-touch recordings, has its own screen to preview and replay filmings.
